Clipping mask development

I thought that this texture could be used on my design because it looks like an elephant skin as elephant skin is usually wrinkly and that could be seen in this photo. If I was to use this photo I would have to change the colour to a light blue or a light grey colour and make the photo brighter as it is a dark brown colour which would not be suitable for my design as my colour palette for my design consist of light colours.

The texture is consistent and it also looks rough. I have taken this texture from my dress.
I think that this texture shows a gradient of black, grey and white as all those colours could be seen clearly in this photo. I thought that this tecture could work with my design if I changed the colour and also work with the brightness and contrast. I could also work with the filters.

I think that the white speckles contrast with the black which creates a pattern. It has also been laid out equally so there are no empty spaces which would've made it look odd, I have taken this from my kitchen table as I thought that this pattern might work with my design if played around with the colour. This colour is too dark for my design and it would cover my design which would make it harder for people to guess what my design is.

This photo shows one of the tiles from my bathroom. I liked this because the colour is neutral and it would be easy to work with to change the colour as it is already light. I also think that this looks like paint that has been smudged everywhere. This might suit my design because the pattern would be seen throughout my design and its easier to work with by just changing the colour.

Process: The first thing I did was open one of the pictures that I took of a texture/pattern that I found at home on Photoshop. Then I highlighted the picture using the rectangular marquee after I had highlighted it I then went on adjustment and pressed on the brightness and contrast to make it lighter as the texture I chose was too dark for my design. Then I pressed on the hue and saturation and changed the colour to a light blue colour as my design is an Elephant. I also played around with the photo filter as I wanted the texture to be less sharp and more soft so I decided to use the brush stroke called crosshatch and it made it look softer.

WWW: I thought that changing the colour of the texture went well as I used different techniques such as brightness and contrast and using the colour balance to make it lighter. I also thought that making the texture softer went well as it suited my design.

EBI: I experimented on a range of textures/ patterns to see which one suits my design. I should also experiment with photo filter to make the texture softer. I could also use this process and the textures/patterns to create a background for my blog which goes with my design.
