Mono-printing

I started off by choosing three pictures on Pinterest which was to do with my Identity as this topic is about identity, after I had chosen three pictures I then went on to the process of mono-printing. the first thing I did was get all the tool and equipment that I needed which was a roller, clear board, newspaper, paper and ink (black). After I have gotten all my equipment I then went on and put black ink onto the bottom of the board, then I rolled the black ink so it covered 3/4 of the board but I had to roll it from the top of the board going down so the ink was as flat as possible. After I had finished rolling the ink on the board I then went on to putting a piece of plain paper on top of the ink, making sure that it was straight and then I laid one of the images that I had chosen on top of the paper. Then with a 4B pencil I carefully drew the image making sure I wasn't moving it as I had to go through different lines and shapes. After I had finished drawing, I lifted the image off first and then I pulled the paper of the ink very lightly so it didn't rip and then I checked and saw that the image had appeared on the plain paper. I then did repeated this process twice using the same image.

Screen printing

I started off by drawing my name, Lisa T in a graffiti typography as I thought this would be suitable for my blog. For this topic typography is really important as there are different types of typography that you are able to choose from. After I had finished drawing my name I then put it on top of a plain piece of paper and used a scalpel knife to cut out the letters. After I had cut out all the letter I went on to get all the tools and equipment that I needed for this process. The tools and equipment that I needed to use for this process were a silk screen, squeegee, textile median and acrylic paint (blue).

The first thing I did was a lay a piece of newspaper down onto the table, then I put a piece of plain paper which I am going to print on on top of the newspaper and then my letter on top of the plain piece of paper. I then laid the silk screen on top of it and then I got a plate and mixed blue acrylic paint and textile median together. After I had finish mixing it together I then applied it onto the silk screen checking that the paint was spread out equally, then I took the squeegee and pressed and dragged the paint down the board using all my strength as this allowed the paint to go through on to the paper which created the screen printing of my name on to the paper. I repeated the process 3 times to see which one I was going to choose to put on the front of my blog.
